Hi, Evo here, at evo.ist and Realitycraft. For the last few months I've been diving back into creative technology, building workflows & tools that enable other creators/producers to make better worlds & experiences. Here I'm on a panel at a tech event discussing the future of the open, connected and social immersive web.
In the process, I've nearly driven myself back to the monastery after hundreds of hours adapting my latest book, Realitycraft, into a product that can support teams, creators and workshops with the work of rapid transformation between tech and ethical design/development. I've been deep in the caves and alchemy labs of history to create a new type of World Design Center.
And soon you can get all of this in your hands, and most of it for free.
I chose to build an app, Realitycraft.app to solve more of the problems and challenges I hit in early concept design and moving an idea from first spark into active production.
As a filmmaker, game and world designer for clients, I've made hundreds of worlds, immersive experiences, games, museums, experiences and artistic endeavors to be shared with the public. Every time we build a new adventure, there are lessons learned. Now those lessons can be discovered as gems for your journey.
Questions in REALITYCRAFT framework inspire deeper inquiry into purpose as well as the finished product or playful world experience. Some of these questions come from storytelling, others from filmmaking, game design or experience design curation:
R: Why does this world exist, what reason does it exist for?
E: What is the unique experience in this world?
A: What questions are asked of players, visitors or participants and what are they called?
L: How are you listening to the community in this world?
I: What interactions are available for people to play with in your world? How are players interacting with each other?
T: What is the terrain like and how do you describe the terra firma? Y: What are the yes and yummy sensory wins in your world?
C: Who are the characters in this environment and how are they connected?
R: What aspects of realness or relatability do they respond to in others?
A: What art, artifacts and assets need to be collected and curated for this world to feel complete?
F: What fictions and fandoms are you supporting and empowering?
T: What transformations can come with this experience?
Over the last 8 weeks I've prototyped REALITYCRAFT into a comprehensive app that includes hundreds of pages of research, user case studies, strategic guides, games, helpful tips and concrete precision promptcraft workflows so you have every tool needed at your disposal for highest quality work today. Now you can join as an early beta tester as we start to test new API calls with tools like Genie 3 and other solutions for open source worldbuilding, interoperability and resilient design of immersive & interactive spaces.
Whether you're thinking about storytelling, immersive or interactive play, AR/VR/XR, design of new campaigns or just want to play with these ideas for your own creative learning and discovery, the Realitycraft.app is your easiest way to get my knowledge and insight without a high cost. While my consulting rates cost $$$ you can get many questions answered quickly for free or at a very low cost as we build free and premium versions of the app for public release this year. Jump in now and you'll be among the first testing these tools with us as we grow, and your feedback is appreciated.
